OBJECTIVES:
Examine some well-known radicalized groups, including those focused on gender (e.g., Incels), government (e.g., Sovereign Citizens), race/ethnicity (e.g., Blood Tribe), and religion (e.g., Al-Qaeda)
Explain how cognitive and social dynamics, such as groupthink and peer pressure, contribute to the suppression of dissent and the reinforcement of extremist ideologies within groups
Identify warning signs and behavioral indicators associated with radicalization and extremist involvement
Discuss effective mental health interventions and preventative strategies aimed at reducing the risk of violence associated with extremist group dynamics

Examine well-known radicalized groups, including history, ideologies, and prevalence of violence.
Review theoretical models related to the process of radicalization among groups and in individuals using case examples.

Discuss common warning signs and behavioral indicators associated with radicalization and the possibility for imminent violence.
Provide information related to community- and individual-level interventions that may decrease the likelihood for violence using case examples.

CE APPROVALS:

Other Professions – may seek apply for education credits through their respective boards. Everyone in attendance will receive a certificate of attendance for 4 clock hours.
