Describe internet/social media/mobile phone addiction and preoccupation in youth and adults
Assess the professional literature about the impact of electronic media on the well-being of youth and adults
List techniques suggested for resolving challenges to ethics, social functioning, and adjustment stemming from the overuse of electronic media

What do studies demonstrate about the ubiquity of social media and internet use – how has this changed over time
Peer reviewed studies and their implications regarding the use of social media and other screen-related information sources

Differential effects of social media use/abuse related to age, gender, and other demographic variables
Generational differences and their impact on assessing and diagnosing problems relating to media overuse
What do we do not? Is this a problem or not and, if so, how do we treat it?
Research generated “advice” from mental health professionals to parents and other family members about screen time and social media exposure.

CE APPROVALS:
