UNUSUAL SYNDROMES AND CONDITIONS

OBJECTIVES:
Discuss and list lesser-known psychological, genetic, and medical syndromes that have been described in the professional literature
Demonstrate and use proper differential diagnostic practices
Compare and explain syndromes with a genetic etiology and those with presumed psychological causes
Explain these syndromes and conditions and know how to make proper referrals when indicated
Participants will be aware of diagnostic markers and treatment suggestions for each condition discussed

Outline the criteria for assessing these “syndromes” and offer appropriate caveats and warnings about their use
List and describe each syndrome discussed with an emphasis on diagnostic markers, differential indicators, treatment recommendations and possible referral resources
