DESCRIPTION:PRESENTER: \nSasha Lambert\, Ph.D. \n  \nOBJECTIVES: \nDescribe current patterns of AI use across the general population\, including differences across the lifespan. \nExamine how consumers are using AI tools for mental health support\, including an evaluation of the effects of AI on mental health outcomes. \nDescribe current patterns of AI use in mental health practice and research\, including comparison of AI versus clinician outcomes. \nApply ethical frameworks to the use of AI in mental health practice and research to determine best practices. \n  \n\nAGENDA: \n8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.  –  Registration \n8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. \nDescribe current patterns of AI use across the general population\, including differences in adoption\, engagement\, and risk across age groups and demographics. \nEvaluate the effects of AI use on mental health outcomes in the general population\, including potential benefits and areas of significant concern\, such as non-consensual intimate imagery\, deepfakes\, and AI-facilitated harm. \nExamine how consumers are currently using AI tools for mental health support and distinguish between additive use as a supplement to professional care versus replacement use. \n10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – Break \n10:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. \nIdentify current applications of AI in mental health practice and research\, including diagnostic support\, treatment planning\, predictive analytics\, and documentation. \nCritically evaluate the evidence comparing AI-assisted mental health interventions to traditional clinician-delivered care\, including considerations of efficacy\, accessibility\, and limitations. \nApply ethical and legal frameworks to the use of AI in mental health practice and research\, including considerations of informed consent\, data privacy\, bias\, and professional accountability. \n12:45 p.m. – Adjournment \n\nCE APPROVALS: \nPsychologists – Professional Training Resources\, Inc.  is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for Psychologists.  Professional Training Resources\, Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content. \nLicensed Professional Counselors – Professional Training Resources\, Inc. has been approved by NBCC as an approved Continuing Education Provider\, ACEP No. 5829.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  Professional Training Resources\, Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. \nSocial Workers – This program has been approved for 4 clinical continuing education contact hours by the National Association of Social Workers\, Louisiana Chapter\, and may be applied toward the continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. \nSubstance Abuse Counselors  – approved by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority for 4 clock hours. \nNASP – Professional Training Resources is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists to offer continuing education for school psychologists.  Professional Training Resources maintains responsibility for the program. \nOther Professions – may seek apply for education credits through their respective boards.  Everyone in attendance will receive a certificate of attendance for 4 clock hours.
